About La Sierra University

La Sierra University, also referred to as simply LSU or La Sierra, is a Seventh-day Adventist co-educational university located in Riverside, which is a city in the US state of California, that serves as the county seat of Riverside County, with a population estimated at a number of more than 300 000 inhabitants, during the 2009 census, fact which makes it the 61st most populous city in the US and 12th most populous city in the state.

LSU was established in 1922 and began operating in its current form in 1990, after it was merged into Loma Linda University in 1967. It currently has an enrollment of approximately 2000 undergraduates, offering graduate and undergraduate curricula in applied and liberal arts and sciences, religion, business and management and programs for professional education in fulfillment of requirements for teaching credentials, the highest degree offered being Ed.D.

Athletics

La Sierra's sports teams are known as the Golden Eagles, and they formerly competed in NCAA Division III, currently playing in NAIA. Their distinctive colors are gold and blue.
